2007 is Filled! Some Seats Still Available for 2008.

There are still some seats available for most tours in 2008, while all of the 2007 trips are completely filled.
Please note the slight date change for the Australia and Hawaii trip in August. (Those who are already signed up have already been notified.)
By changing the dates, and going one week earlier, we can get better flights, and eliminate about 3 hours each way in-flight & in airports.

The new dates are: August 10 - 23, 2008 (with the Hawaii holiday).
There are still some seats left with the Hawaii package, but you better hurry!

Join us Sunday, Sept. 16, for a Colorful Cruise & River Walk

D.A.G. members are invited to join me this Sunday, Sept. 16, when I take one of my adult anthropology classes on the Diamond Jack cruise on the Detroit River. It's a beautiful cruise, and narrated, so you'll learn a lot about Michigan and Canada, and get some great pictures of the skyline. Meet at Hart Plaza at 1:00pm, and walk to the back of Hart Plaza to the River. Then go down the short flight of steps to the River Walk, and look to the left where the boat will pick us up. It's also a good chance to see the recently opened, and beautiful, River Walk in Detroit, which will go from the Ambassador Bridge all the way to the Belle Isle Bridge.
The Diamond Jack boat is for us only on Sunday, and I hope you can join us. It will be over about 3:45pm. The cruise price is only $14, but if you tell them you're in my group it is only $12. Just say "I'm in Jim's group" as you board the boat and pay for your ticket. You can sit inside or outside on the boat, and upstairs or downstairs. We're going, rain or shine. It's really a nice experience. The boat leaves from Hart Plaza and sails up the river, pointing out and explaining the sites along the Detroit side, and then eventually out past the Grosse Pointes and into Lake St. Clair. Then it turns around and sails back down the Canadian side, and you will also see the world's only "floating post office", which has it's own zip code and is part of the U.S. postal system, floating on the river! See you Sunday! Jim.

We be jammin'.......

Enjoy some of the world's greatest jazz artists at the annual Detroit International Jazz Fest, this Friday thru Sunday in Hart Plaza, & other nearby stage sites downtown. It's the world's largest free jazz festival, & now joins Montreux,
Switzerland, (it's former partner) as the two most prestigious jazz festivals in the world. "Bliss Sheets" will not be passed out, so check the schedules in Thursday's Detroit News and Free Press, & the Metro Times. Kali spera.

Passports required!

Don't forget that a valid U.S. Passport is required for all of our
trips in 2008, except "Pikes Peak & the Rockies", "Alaska &
the Land of the Midnight Sun", and "10-day, 2-island Hawaii".
